Keller Williams ® Realty, Flagship of Maryland office was established for real estate professionals that wanted more out of their careers. Established in the Spring of 2004, the Millersville based real estate office incorporates proven business models with the latest in training and technology.
The Flagship of Maryland office is equipped with wireless high speed T1 internet access, dedicated T1 phone and fax lines, multiple conference rooms, multiple color enterprise printers and a regionally recognized training center. The Keller Williams ® Flagship of Maryland also hosts several training sessions for realtors in Maryland.

CEO / Career Consultant - Wendy Hess
In addition to her prior role in “Team Hess” real estate, our team leader Wendy, has over 20 years of corporate operations experience in the Giant Food / Ahold USA organization. During her career with Giant, Wendy’s positions included Operations Manager as well as Project Manager with a concentration in technology. In 2002 Wendy became involved with The Real Estate Answer Teams ® and added to the development and content of The Answer Team Real Estate Network. As a primary contributor in the network’s development, she reviewed, critiqued, stress tested and recommended improvements to network websites. Wendy fully embraces the Keller Williams ® belief system that teamwork is “Together, Everyone Achieves More.”
Broker - Barry Hess, GRI, ABR, e-PRO
Barry is the broker of record for the Keller Williams ® Flagship of Maryland. He has served as an agent trainer and mentor for many years, he was appointed to the relocation division and is a leader in our office of agents. Among Barry’s many responsibilities as the Broker he has maintains his status as a Mega agent.
If not selling real estate, you will find probably find Barry attending continuing education classes in his quest to share his knowledge and experience with his agents. As a GRI, ABR and e-Pro ® agent, Barry is a Broker who believes that continuing education and technology will give today’s Realtor ® the competitive edge.
Operating Partner - David L. Therrien, e-PRO
Dave has been recognized for his sales achievements as the Top Producing Sales Agent/Team for 1999 through 2003 and by his admission into RE/MAX International’s Hall of Fame in 2003. Dave is a retired Naval Officer who served as a cryptologist throughout his career. Dave is a decorated and disabled veteran that has served throughout many parts of the world.
Dave was the CEO of a title insurance agency and later employed as a Realty Specialist with the United States Marshals Service. His education consists of three degrees including Law, and the designations of e-PRO ®, ABR and RECS. He serves on the AACAR Legislative Committees and MRIS SAC. Dave is an active proponent and public speaker on the development of technology in the real estate industry. This makes Dave a wise choice to represent the stockholders of Keller Williams ® Flagship of Maryland.
Market Center Administrator - Peter Sommer
Peter is a graduate of Bucknell University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education and the University of Maryland School of Law, with honors. Recently retired from his law practice of thirty-three years, he represented both Fortune 500, local, small and medium sized businesses. Among his clients were real estate developers, management companies and companies engaged in real estate construction.
Peter has extensive managerial and administrative experience. From 1985 until 1994, he managed a business group of 12-20 associates, staffed assignments, ensured uniformity of work product, tracked hours, monitored quality of work, coordinated billing of assignments with billing partners, and coordinated projects with the firm’s litigation group.
From 1990 to 1994, he served on a management committee that controlled the operation of the entire firm that included more than 60 professionals and a support staff in excess of 50. This assignment also included the responsibility for the firm’s accounting operation. Peter served as a member of the national commercial and construction arbitration panels for the American Arbitration Association for over thirty years. What an outstanding find for our Keller Williams ® Flagship of Maryland office!
